If you have one person writing a paper, it is easy to track the changes and differences. \u00a0But imagine you had 10 people writing the same paper. \u00a0And it wasn&#039;t real time (like Google Docs). \u00a0How would you track which changes affect which changes and which is the most current state of the paper?\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p \/>\n<div><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Git_(software)\">Git<\/a> is a version control and source code manager. \u00a0You can use it as much or as little as you want. \u00a0Basically it saves snapshots of your work and provides tools to ensure that the version you are working on is the most current version and the changes you are making are not negatively affecting someone else. \u00a0<\/div>\n<p \/>\n<div>That being said, at the moment I find Git hard to use. \u00a0<\/p>\n<div class='p_embed p_image_embed'><img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Screen_shot_2012-05-28_at_8\" height=\"366\" src=\"http:\/\/joshdance.me\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/screen_shot_2012-05-28_at_8-53.png\" width=\"489\" \/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>(This is the Git UI. \u00a0Terminal. \u00a0Command line.)<\/div>\n<p \/>\n<div>There are various project and sites and tools to make Git easier to use (see <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/\">Github.com<\/a>). \u00a0Github for Mac seems like a good place to start. \u00a0I will report on how it goes soon.
