Best Smoothie Recipe Ever

I have been making a concentrated effort to eat healthy this last week and going forward.  Say goodbye to frosted corn flakes, and say hello to best smoothie ever!

Ingredients

1 Frozen Peach
1 Frozen Banana
3 or 4 spoonfuls of strawberry yogurt
a splash of apple juice

Blend until the consistency of ice cream.  Seriously, so good.  You have to try it. Make sure to make it a smooth blend.  Chunky would be tasty but the smooth is divine.

If you want to make it a better breakfast, swirl in some peanut butter and granola for fiber and protein.  But this smoothie is too good for that today.

Smart Marketing – SlideShare’s new Zipcast

Zip

If you haven't heard about Slideshare's Zipcast, check it out. Very slick, easy and free online meeting tool.  But what really impressed me was their smart marketing.

They contacted some awesome founders, and thought leaders in various (mostly online) industries to give public presentations using the new service.  A few examples…

Monday, February 21st

Tuesday, February 22nd

This is brilliant because it is a win-win for all parties.

1. Slidecast will get a ton of new people introduced to the service through the presenters networks.  They will tell all their followers that they are presenting, all the followers see Zipcast in action.
2. Presenters will get new followers from Slidecast's marketing and promotion of their presentation, as well as improve their brand and their status as a "leader".

Just goes to show that it is easier to tap existing networks than start a brand new one.

I tried to give this away on Listia but they don’t allow services.  So my blog readers get it!

Don’t Wait Around – you’ll lose opportunities or How I Almost Lost $1,000

(i know the robot doesn't have much to do with wasting time – but it is cool.  Flickr)

Putting things off is never the way to go.  If it should be done, it should be done now.

I was putting off something because I thought it would be hard. I thought that it would be difficult and so I didn't even start.  I missed a deadline that could cost me up to
$1,000.  And when I finally started it, I found out it was a one page form.  ONE PAGE!

So the moral of the story is, never, never NEVER put something off.  If it should be done, it should be done NOW.

LivingSocial and Amazon – what’s the results?

If you have been on the internetz at all today you have seen some mention of the $10 for a $20 gift card at Amazon.

Picture_3

Yes you read that right over 1 MILLION purchased.  So basically Amazon threw LivingSocial a bone and gave everyone a 50% off coupon.  The question remains what will this do for LivingSocial?  They are lagging far behind Groupon and besides their really annoying Cupcake ads, don’t have much traction.  This offer went huge on the internet but now how many of these Amazon bargain seekers will stick around and use LivingSocial?  Who knows.

If I were LivingSocial, I would make sure to have a KILLER deal lined up for the next few days to try and convince people to keep using my service and to keep those affiliate links flying around the internet.

What do you think? Do you think this will help LivingSocial gain and keep new customers, or was this just a giant 50% off Amazon sale? Respond in zee comments.

UPDATE – I have found that Amazon was not involved in this deal at all.  That means that it was a pure customer acquisition play by LivingSocial. So they paid $10 dollars for each email address and credit card info.  Slightly troubling is that fact that it was relatively easy to hack the site buying more than one for yourself. So hopefully this pays off for LivingSocial.  Otherwise that is 20 million dollars of pain.
