This is the UN General Resolution that created the state of Israel. It was one of the hardest to read documents I have read.
 
I like the United Nations. I really do. But it seems to me that they are ineffective and weak. This is due in part to the reluctance of nations to give any power to the UN. It is also due to the process of compromise and negotiations that produce the UN’s decisions.
 
Maybe the problems with the UN are due to the number of parties that have a say and need to be appeased. As Sir Alec Issigonis said,
“A camel is a horse designed by committee.”

My roommate and I got some burgers and shakes a little while ago at Burger Supreme. While waiting in the Drive Thru we noticed this sign. We couldn’t figure out what the “Add .50 Extra” was for. So we tried to order a .50 Extra but the lady was confused. What ever it is, it had better be good to cost 50 cents extra.

I like flickr because of things like this. They have a sense of humor, and almost a personality. Of course flickr is owned by Yahoo, but they have managed to hang onto their identity. I think more companies need to be more human. Just because you are a company doesn’t mean you have to be a faceless huge corporation. Show us who you are!

So Kevin Rose gets some leaked Tesla shots and posts them. He gets a polite take down notice from Tesla a few hours later. By that time the photos are everywhere and all the top hits on google for any combination of “kevin rose leaked tesla” gets you the photos. Information wants to be free.

 Also, it is interesting that there is an issue about leaked shots. Since when was the last time people were looking at leaked shots of a Ford? Tesla is doing the right thing in making the new car more like a consumer electronic device. Something cool that people want to get a look at. The more like an iPhone you can make a car the better. The new Model S even has a touch screen!

I don’t know what it is about love. Seems like that is the only thing artists can sing about.

 However, from human behavior perspective it makes sense. Everyone has experienced, or wants to experience love, and or a relationship sometime in their lives. This makes it a shared experience that everyone can relate to. It also evokes strong reactions that other themes can’t. We all have shopped at a grocery store but I don’t think a song about shopping at Safeway would evoke the reactions that Taylor Swift’s Love Story does.

Maybe he’d be able to fix the economy. At least the Force would be with him.

Amazing how fast it changes. On Saturday it was almost 70. Dropped 20 degrees on Sunday and snowed today. Weather keeps life interesting.

I recently sold a Mac Mini I had won in a film competition. I posted it on the new facebook marketplace (which is way better than the old one) and on Craigslist for 500 dollars. Within minutes of posting, I received this message.

hmmmmmmmm. Why would someone offer to pay me 250 dollars more than what i requested, and request an urgent response, and give me a long back story about a graduation in Africa? The whole thing was fishy to me and became more so the more I looked at it. There was no way to respond to this message. This was a new member of facebook, and hardly anyone goes without a profile pictures now. And when I searched for this person, I couldn’t actually find them.
 
I ended up selling it thru Craigslist to a local guy. I met up with him at a local Subway Sandwich and that was it. Trust is hard to come by, giving local options the edge. And it is amazing how many people out there just want to take your money.
