Nicholas Flamel?
So I heard about a new book series about Nicholas Flamel. You could download a free ebook for the first book in the series from Amazon for the Kindle. But the interesting thing is I remembered that Flamel was mentioned in Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone. Turns out a quick Google search showed me that he is, or was, (depending on who you ask) a real person. He supposedly came into possession of a book that allowed him to turn things into gold, and make the Elixir of Life which allowed him to live forever.
Turns out what I thought was intellectual property theft is just smart authors taking real historical characters and using them in their stories.Scammers and Spammers
I found this advertisement kind of funny. First of all, there is no yellow MacBook Air. Second there is no yellow iPhone. Third, an unlocked 16gb iPhone costs $650, not 750. And why do I need to give my home phone and date of birth for so called “shipping info” for a MacBook Air. And why would Discover Card, Netflix, and Columbia House sponsor a program to give away free laptops? The scary thing is that people do fill these things out and give all their information to the spammers and the scammers that run these things.

Finals just got over. Found this picture from a telescope. No photo-manipulation aside from the usual space color enhancement.
i like time travel
This is just what you would need to be the most amazing time traveler ever. Seriously.
Makes me feel better about Government
So I sent an email to Senator Patty Murray of Washington today
bringing up a few points about one of President Obama’s nominations.
I got this in response.
Obama’s Administration. I appreciate hearing from you. As you may know, Article II, Section 2 of the Constitution charges the
Senate with advising on and consenting to presidential nominees to
many executive branch offices. I consider this responsibility to be
one of my most important duties as a U.S. Senator. As the Senate
considers each of the President’s potential appointees, I treat each
individual with the same level of respect, scrutiny and courtesy that
I believe all nominees deserve. As I look at each individual, I will examine their record and
experience to see if they meet my long-held standards. I will
consider whether they are ethical, honest and qualified. Rest
assured, I will also keep your views in mind when making my final
decision on each nomination. I share your concern and thank you for your observations about the
President’s potential appointees. If I can be of service in the
future, please be in touch. I hope all is well in Redmond.
Impressive. I don’t know if she wrote this herself, if an aide wrote
it, or if she will even consider my opinion but it sure made me feel
great. At least something gets through to our elected leaders.
Gmail Fail
One of the downsides of having all your stuff in the cloud.
i love iPhone
I have had the iPhone for about half a year now and I can say with all honesty, that I don’t know what I did without it. Here is a look by the MIT Tech Review into the guts that make up my favorite phone/iPod/internet communicator.

i like Folk Dance
With a last name like Dance, people always ask if I do. I always liked dancing but I never did it formally. About a year ago my cousins on the BYU Folk Dance team had a performance. I thought it was pretty awesome and I decided to tryout for the team. Fast forward a year and I am about a week away from a month long tour with the top backup team. Pretty crazy. This is our performance for the Spring Festival of Nations.
I am middle leftish. We call this the family portrait pose.
