Mahalo Dollars… er I Mean .75 cents

Mahalo_rip

This just seems like a rip off to me. You buy these “dollars” for a dollar, but they are only redeemable for .75 cents. Isn’t that like giving someone a dollar bill that is only worth .50 cents? I know that Mahalo has to pay for their operating costs, but a whole 1/4 of the pie seems a little excessive. If anyone is interested I am going to start selling JDance “dollars” that are only redeemable for .23 cents. Limited time only so hurry up and get your order in. Makes for a great graduation day present.

The need to travel

I was driving through Montana when I saw this RV at the gas station. I have seen these maps where you put a sticker where you have visited before, but I never have seen one so complete.

I think it fullfills the human need to get out there and see the world and experience new things.

But what’s wrong with South Carolina?

What is up with Vampires?

Vampires

I was reviewing an ebook site this week and couldn’t help but notice that vampires have taken over popular culture. Thanks to Twilight, young girls no longer dream of meeting a singing dancing Zac Efron, they dream of being bitten by an Edward Cullen. Does that seem strange to you?

All i have to say it, this can’t be good.

Do you not believe I am human?

I don’t know how facebook “checks” to see who is updating your status. But it obviously thinks that I am a robot. Because I have to do this security check a lot. Kind of annoying.

Signs of an Economic Slowdown…

Img_0309

I went to Krispy Kreme this morning. The hot light was on and I wanted a free doughnut. I found this sign. It was very sad. I thought about buying a 1.99 orange juice but then realized that the price of a doughnut was only 89 cents. By then I was so distraught that I just turned around and sadly walked out. Goodbye free original glazed. How I will miss you.

PS I thought it was tricky how them made something as negative as “No you can’t have a free doughnut.” sound so positive. Clever.

Is Sony clueless?

It would seem that they are. Their president and CEO, Howard Stringer, gave an interview this month. This segment caught my eye.
“Apple’s iTunes Store uses its own proprietary DRM called FairPlay. I think this gives Sony a chance to provide something that Apple can’t. And we have to move ahead and grab that opportunity before Apple begins to provide support for other hardware and blocks us out.”

I wonder if he has heard yet that the iTunes store moved to DRM free music in January. I may be an Apple fan but I feel that most of Sony’s products are hard to use. Sure they have a lot of great features, but they are too hard to use. They don’t seem to understand that people want to enjoy using their technology.

Here is the link to the interview.
