Life is crazy

Just a few thoughts from the crazy last week or two.

This_is_why_i_don_t_turn_on_gc

I usually don't turn on Google Chat.  This is what happens when I do.  Hard to get work done, but so fun to talk to friends.

I hit 500 Twitter followers this week. Kinda cool.  Thanks for following guys. Twitter account here

Group6_parkcity_final

My group for ISYS were going crazy during our crazy project so we made a snowman, took a picture, photoshopped it, and pretended we had finished the project and run off to Park City.  It caused quite the stir on the email boards.

Finals in a week then home for Christmas. Horay!

Facebook for Beta signups – they want yo info

Noticed an interesting trend.  More companies are having you connect via Facebook rather than just give you email to sign up?

Hug Energy was the second I noticed after RockMelt. (Which I just got an invite to so stay tuned for the review)

I understand why.  With email you have one point of contact.  That is it.  With Facebook they get bucketloads of data.  Kinda scary though. These are little companies that have pressure for money.  But like I believe, if you have nothing to hide, share away!

Me and my iPhone

P407

This is my home screen of my iPhone. These are the apps that I use most often and want easy access to.

You know a product has really changed your routine when you can’t think of what life would have been like without it.

I wake up to my iPhone alarm. Check my todo list on my iPhone, look up my homework on my iPhone text and call friends on my iPhone have my calendar on my iPhone, answer emails on my
iPhone, take pictures on my iPhone and now blog on my iPhone.

You might think that I am addicted and maybe I am. During the summer I was a river guide in Moab UT, and rivers and iPhones don’t mix. I wouldn’t have my phone for weeks at a time and I didn’t collapse in despair or feel phantom buzzes in my pocket. (incidentally I took my iPhone on the river once and it feel in. Only a week long rice bath saved it. )

What is on your home screen? Are you addicted to your iPhone/android/Blackberry?

Just Bought Pastebot

Having a record of my copies and clips is becoming more and more important. I found myself typing out the same urls and things. So I bought Pastebot. Beautiful, fun to use. With multitasking it saves a ton of time.

After I install the Mac Sync I’ll write a full review. This is the 4th app I have paid money for so this is kind of a big deal.

TippingBucket – Text “104182” to 73774

The short and sweet.  Please

Text "104182" to 73774

That is all.

Still here? Well then…

Hey all you blog friends who bumped into my corner of the web. Let me tell you about what has been consuming my life lately. In a gets-me-going-in-the-morning, makes-mewant-to-change-the-world-feeling-like-I-actually-can kind of way. This is the kind of stuff that keeps my blood running and my feet moving even when I'm running on
little to no sleep.  Tipping Bucket is an incredible organization that has been able to do so much in the short time they've been up and running. To date, they have restored eyesight to Ugandans, lit up rural African schools that didn't have electricity, and provided support and vocational training to victims of sex-trafficking in Southeast Asia.
Tipping Bucket helps passionately charged people with great ideas but limited resources make those ideas come to life. They do this through many small donations from people with big hearts. All of this is building up to me telling you that Tipping Bucket is entered into the Pepsi Refresh competition for November. They are in the category to win a $250,000 grant that will help them expand their organization and increase their ability to fund more projects.

This is why I do internet stuff. This is why I sacrifice time, sleep, energy, and a lot of other things for the nonprofit change the world projects.

Help us help them win!
