Karate Kid Movie Review – see it if you like “problem, train, fight” movies.

I liked it.  It follows the classic storyline.  

Boy has problems.  Boy finds mentor.  
Mentor is unwilling.  Boy finds love.  
Boy gets more problems.  Mentor trains boy.  
Boy wins back love.  Boy beats enemies down.  

Jaden Smith is a good kid actor, and Jackie Chan is himself.  

I kind of missed hearing the classic lines in English.  Somehow “Sweep the leg.” in Chinese wasn’t as sinister.  

But I liked it.  I might even take a nephew to see it in theaters.  Definitely Redbox it.

Alice in Wonderland – Not so wonderful

Quite possibly one of the worst movies I have ever seen.  

It looked quite "fake".  I'm sure it would have been more impressive in 3D but a movie should have to rely on gimmicks.  

The plot was convoluted and dry.  I never felt bad for Alice.  I wanted to slap her a few times.  No character drew me in.  The White Queen (Anne Hathaway) was dreadful.  I felt at times that what happened above ground was more interesting than Wonderland.  

I wouldn't even spend a dollar on it from Redbox.
